You Were Born to Thrive

When I was driving up the snowy Colorado mountains on Christmas Eve, I was listening to an inspirational radio station and the host came on and mentioned a story of the Forbes Top 30 under 30 list.
It's awesome to see such young achievers, but sometimes these lists can make us feel like we are falling behind in our own lives.
But there's a twist!… Forbes also published a Hall of Shame list.
And… Many of the people that were once on the 30 under 30 list now find themselves in the Hall of Shame, facing hardships such as, legal battles, bankruptcy, and even prison.
The Hall of Shame sounds a little harsh if you ask me, but it goes to show that shortcuts might glitter, but they're not always gold.
It's a reminder not to compare ourselves to everything “out there” because the external world can be extremely deceiving.
The only journey to compare ourself to is our own… to look back at our past selves, and understand what we can change in order to create a better future.
Comparison of the external will only create a state of lack, which will continue to produce more not-enoughness in our present moment.
Whereas taking ownership of your own life and choosing to get better and better each day, will put you into a state of empowerment.
No matter where you are, or what age, you are in perfect harmony with where you are meant to be.
Each step, each struggle, each triumph is part of your unique path.
And if you stay true to yourself and align with your higher purpose, you're already succeeding.
Just because society has taught us one way, doesn't mean we aren't free to change our way at any given moment.
It's ok to do things differently… when you do things that light up your soul, your whole world begins to light up around you.
There is no list or accolade that can compare to your own internal power, belief in yourself, and the divine that is within you & all around you.
So, keep shining, keep growing, and trust that you're on the right path.
You are already succeeding âď¸
